I dont have the best credit rating in the world , infact six years ago when i started uni i made a huge mistake and went over my overdraft limit by £1000(i think that having just turned 18 i shouldnt have been allowed the type of bank account i was given ,had no clue about how to handle money)but when i found it difficult to pay back due to the almost £20 a day that was being added i gave up (which i know was another mistake) the debt was eventually written off by the bank and passed to capquest £4500 now the debt is so old and unpaid that the satute of limitations has run out and it cant be chased. i have mortgage (still a student tho) ,a bank account with debit card and overdraft ,contract phone and credit card(all after the original debt was made),but to be honest tried to get a better credit card and was turned down my credit rating is really crap .My partner and i are moving back to dublin will the rating follow ?when he moved here his didnt follow him (his is not bad)
my partner was told that he had to build his credit rating up when he first moved here from dublin ,the bank told him as rep.ireland is considered abroad so he had no credit rating in this country(scotland)

so far the comments are that it will follow to the ,can anyone rep. ireland can anyone tell me why my partner was told when he moved here that as he was from the republic it was considered abroad and in that case when he moved here he had no credit rating????
