They would make me stupidly attracted to constant repetitions of doing them at ridiculous and disproportionate cost to my self-worth, bank account/debt situation, short-term memory, cell membranes, nerves, social and professional situation, self-respect, personal health, personal smell, time, satisfaction/peace, self-appreciation.
The entire act of putting another alien chemical into the front of my mind makes my obsess about that and forget about any other priorities present at any point. Drugs cloud the mind more than any love affair ever could making the addict completely selfish and lacking in common sense.
Recreational drugs kill. From the minute they are manifest to the minute they trigger events in the user. Even then their effects continue. These include addicting the user plus whatever other effects they have on the addict/family/police/job/soul/ethics.
Drugs are criminal. Don't do drugs. Please.

Fact is - drugs are an easy way of being sated and the lazy man's way to get high. The fact that they can do real damage etc. is ignored by a lot of people who are blind to the dangers any drug poses (even as a gateway to other drugs). Nobody thinks that they'd ever be stupid enough to graduate from puff to crack to smack but that is how most people who do scurvy things to get money for a final hit would describe their respective drug progressions.
The danger lies in not appreciating what we have without chemical enhancements - for instance - sunny days, good music, deep breaths, exercise, books, food, meditation, prayer, love, animals, the list goes on for ever.
Live in the here and now - appreciate how lucky you are. Smile - you are alive!
