The Olympic Games has become a major PR exercise for the hosting Nation, and a major financial burden for its people. The cost of holding the Olympics by Greece still remains a big debt to them.
The United Kingdom cannot afford to hold the games ( No wonder Paris were glad not to win the vote) and the expected costs and final account will be a mill stone around the nations necks for decades to come, however if the participants were non professionals as they were originally, the costs could well be reduced to possible affordable levels. What is your opinion.
