Hi,
Really could do with some sound advice on this one.
Scenario:
Couple married for 15+ years. 10 year old child. Mortgage, other debts under £50K.
The male walks out, mentions another women, usual story of a mutual friend.
The remainder or debts are in the females name (As debts in his name were paid off on priority - sneaky). The mortgage payments come out of his bank account, although this is a joint mortgage.
Resolution:
Need to form a plan of attack for moving forward and getting this lovely womens life back on track. I'm unsure as to laws/best practice in regards to how the house would be resolved if both parties were keen to 'buy each other out' and the debts that were taken out against the individual although clearly for the both of them - help as this person means the world to me and I don't want to make matters worse through poor advice.
