My wife went into a high street shop recently, and wanted to buy some clothes, She has a credit card. but when she went to the check-out the store asistant bamboozelled her into taking out a store card and not using her credit card. She was told it was a discount card and not a credit card.
Luck has it I cancelled her agreement, but how can a shop mis-sell this and not only that my wife has no income of her own and they did no checks?
Surely this is the reason so many are in debt
you say its the customers fault, I think the customer is not made aware, in my wifes case they lied to her what the card was about.
Have you seen the small print? Light Blue writting on white paper, its small, hard to read and you are in a busy shop. you dont have time to read and understand what is equivalnt to a book
