Would you invest in a 2nd property as a buy to let with the market in the state its in right now?
|
I decided a few weeks ago to remortgage my home and buy a second one to rent out. Everything has gone really smoothly until the surveyor came to my home and valued it at 20k less than I thought he would, which leaves me a huge problem! I have already paid out some solicitors fees and valuation fees and it seems such a shame to pull out at this

Is it possible to remortgage on the the value the house will be worth after work is carried out?
|
My house is currently worth £85,000. I am aware it would be worth substantialy more if certain work was done. As the house was in poor condition when I bought it & needed more doing to it than originally anticipated I ended up securing a loan on the property as well as taking out a personal loan to do up the house which I manage perfectly

Remortgage using an offset mortgage?
|
I want to remortgage my existing property (which is fully paid off) to raise capital for a property in Turkey I bought. I need to raise around £50K. The thing is my savings have gone into the deposit. I am not concerned as my wages are fairly good, so not in any difficulty. My question is, would it be a good idea to go into an offset mortgage,

Guess why the government is promoting bankruptcy? Because the Secretary of State gets £7,500 + VAT in costs!
|
My ex-husband deliberately went bankrupt last summer, out of spite, because it was agreed at mediation that I would keep our home, (and he would keep all of his pension) because I have sole responsibility of our 4 children, as after 17 years he decided he didn't want to be a father anymore. He went bankrupt for just over £30,000, but on top

Can you remortgage your house to lower the original mortgage debt?
|
From what i gather about remortgaging, you release equity on your house and you are increasing the value of your original mortgage debt. It could be to pay off credit card debts or invest into a buy to let. Well my question is: is it possible to lower the initial mortgage debt simply by remortgaging the appreciation of the house. For example, if i

Improving credit rating for remortgaging for next year.?

I know that I have 2 defaults and no CCJs on my credit file at the moment. I am steadily paying off the debts which are £1022.42 and £13000 left. What is the best thing to do in order that I can get a reasonable rating so that I can remortgage in about Jan/Feb 2009?
