Each of the the OD charges are around £9.80 as they are two AOL monthly costs, both times the account was in minus for a couple of days as wages went in just afterwards.
These 2 OD charges initailly totalled £100 at £50 each, however, i was told if i accept any other charges then this combined fee will be reduced by £30, still £70!
Now, after protracted correspondance which appears to have been ignored by the bank as i only ever receive generic replies, they have involved a debt collector for a bill now totalling £129.
I have cancelled the account a number of times and instructed the reclamation of bank charges however, they wont pay up pending the result of a legal test case currently being presented, the outcome of which concerns many institutions.
I do not know what to do. Its an unreal amount, £129 for a total of £20. How can they feel justified involving a debt collector when they are unsure of their legal position with regards to any charges? What do i do??
